Arsenal kept themselves in the title hunt as they came from behind to win.

Premier League Arsenal vs Everton Match Report
A glowing second-half display from Theo Walcott gave Arsenal a 3-1 win over Everton to keep his side in Chelsea's wake.

With Phil Scolari's side firing five past Middlesbrough earlier in the afternoon, the Gunners needed a victory to stay in touch at the top.

Their task was made that much harder as early as the ninth minute when Leon Osman exchanged passes with Steven Pienar on the left side of the Arsenal box, before sliding in to poke the ball past Manuel Almunia from five yards out.

Having failed to respond against Hull City in the last match at the Emirates, the pressure was on Arsene Wenger and his boys, especially as Everton have yet to be beaten on their travels this season.

Robin Van Persie raised the home side's hopes on 15 minutes when he took a long pass on his chest inside the area and quickly got his shot off, but Tim Howard was equal to the effort and spread himself well to block the shot from point-blank range.

Emmanuel Adebayor was getting into some good positions, but typically missed a batch of opportunities.

Osman was unlucky in the 19th minute when his drilled left-foot shot was deflected wide of the left post off the body of Mikael Silvestre.

Van Persie should have done better on 25 minutes when he was teed up by Emmanuel Eboue on the right but he fired his shot from the edge of the area high over the bar.

The Dutchman was on target a few minutes later when he curled in a free-kick from the right side of the area, but Howard punched the ball away to safety.

Gael Clichy prevented his side from going further behind in the 36th minute when he cleared off the line from Joleon Lescott's headed effort.

Cesc Fabregas raised home fans pulses in the 40thth minute with a shot across goal that had the Toffees keeper beaten but flew just wide of the left post. The young Spaniard did the same two minutes later to the frustration of the Gunners faithful.

Everton for the part were not only encouraged to be in the lead at half-time, but David Moyes players also had a better share of the possession than their hosts.

Having lost club captain William Gallas before the game, the Gunners suffered a further setback when his deputy Kolo Toure injured his shoulder and had to be replaced by Walcott at the beginning of the second half.

That was in itself a declaration of attacking intent and the dividends were collected within three minutes when Samir Nasri equalised with a low drive from a central position that went beyond Howard's outstretched arm to finish in the bottom left corner of the net.

The goal spurred the Gunners and their fans on and the tempo quickened to a pace more akin to Wenger's side's style. Van Persie should have given his side the lead on 55 minutes, but spooned a right-foot shot high over the bar from ten yards out.

Van Persie had a good claim for a penalty waived a way by referee Peter Walton.

The Gunners continued to press forward and were rewarded for their adventure in the 69th minute when Van Persie was on hand to nod the ball home from close range after Howard's save from Fabregas' shot rebounded up to the striker.

Walcott sealed the points in the final minute with a low drive from just inside the right side of the area, after fellow substitute Abou Diaby had cleverly pulled the ball back for the England star.

Barclays Premier League: Liverpool Vs Wigan Athletic Match Highlights, Report, Video
Venue: Anfield Date: Saturday, 18 October
Dirk Kuyt's scissor-kick five minutes from time gave Liverpool all three points against 10-man Wigan in a pulsating game at Anfield.

Barclays Premier League: Liverpool Vs Wigan Athletic Match Report
Liverpool twice came from behind against Wigan to take all three points and join Chelsea at the top of the table after a five-goal thriller at Anfield.

Two first-half strikes from Egypt forward Amr Zaki and one from Dirk Kuyt took the sides in at the break with the Latics deservedly one goal to the good, but a much improved second 45 minutes from the Reds and a Wigan sending-off changed the match.

Late goals from Albert Riera and Kuyt once again stopped the visitors from claiming their first-ever Premier League win at Anfield.

Outplaying the home side for most of the first half, Steve Bruce felt his side should have taken the lead on 22 minutes when a defence-splitting pass from Wilson Palacios left the Liverpool backline statuesque and found Olivier Kapo inside the six-yard box.

With only Pepe Reina to beat Kapo's low drive saw the Reds shot-stopper pull off a good save down to his right and recover quickly enough to clear the ball off the toe of the striker.

With no Fernando Torres for the Reds, goalscoring duties had been left to Robbie Keane, who had a chance to make his mark on the game after 27 minutes when a through ball from Riera left three Wigan defenders scrambling back to catch Keane, who unchallenged managed to curl the ball past Latics keeper Chris Kirkland but past the far post as well.

The breakthrough came just a minute later when a short pass from Reina to his centre-back Daniel Agger just outside the box was miscontrolled by the defender, inviting a challenge by the quick-thinking Amr Zaki, who stole the ball and slotted in his seventh of the season to give his side a well-deserved lead.

Against the run of play the home side found an equaliser on 36 minutes when a surging run from Agger deep inside his own half went unchallenged and, making up for his mistake which gifted Wigan the opener, the centre-half played a neat one-two with Riera and cut the ball back to an unmarked Kuyt, who levelled the scores.

Having got back into the game the Reds started to create a few more chances and a 30-yard thunderbolt from Kuyt was heading into the top corner before Kirkland got his fingertips to the ball and touched it onto the bar.

The visitors reclaimed the lead during added time before the break when a defensive mix up once again involving Agger and Andrea Dossena let Antonio Valencia cross the ball to Zaki on the edge of the six-yard box and he spectacularly volleyed in a right-foot rocket.

After the break the home side looked a different team and the Latics were almost pinned back on their 18-yard line from the off.

Latics keeper Kirkland looked determined to hold on to the lead and a good save from a Kuyt shot from six yards was a sign of things to come and further efforts from Steven Gerrard and Riera had the keeper stretched but looking well up to the task.

The turning point came with 20 minutes to go when referee Mr Wiley showed Valencia a yellow card after he was adjudged to have charged down a Liverpool free-kick before the ball was played.

The player was shown a second yellow four minutes later and ordered from the pitch after his challenge on Xabi Alonso was deemed reckless due to the fact he left the playing surface despite winning the ball.

Taking advantage of the extra man Liverpool found another gear and drew level for the second time with ten minutes left to play.

A one-two between Riera and substitute Nabil El Zhar found the tallwinger striding to meet the ball and his low shot found a path through a crowded area and into the back of the net.

Having all the momentum Liverpool were throwing everything they had at Wigan who had every player behind the ball, but all three points were claimed on 85 minutes after good work from Jermaine Pennant on the right managed to pick out a cross to Kuyt.

The Dutch forward acrobatically volleyed the ball into the ground and over a stranded Kirkland who couldn't get a firm enough hand to the ball to keep it out.

Premier League Manchester United Vs West Bromwich Albion Highlights Video

Barclays Premier League: Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion Match Highlights, Report, Video
Venue: Old Trafford Date: Saturday, 18 October
Wayne Rooney sparked Manchester United into life against a limited West Brom as the champions moved ominously up to fourth in the Premier League table.

Premier League Manchester United Vs West Bromwich Albion Match Report
Wayne Rooney's world just seems to be getting better and better as the England star proved the catalyst which brought Manchester United their best win so far this season.

It was the United player with the phenomenal never-say-die attitude that finally broke West Brom's stubborn resistance.

He opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 56th minute and went on to make two of his side's other goals. For good measure also had a first-half effort disallowed.

Rooney's goal - his eighth in six games for club and country - encapsulated why he is the most exciting of England's players.

Dimitar Berbatov sent Rooney racing away down the left with a glorious through ball from inside the centre circle.

Rooney raced clear before cutting inside Ryan Donk in the Albion box and scored with a cool low right-foot shot from 12 yards.

United's second goal 14 minutes later was another masterclass in passing.

Darren Fletcher's ball from the centre circle picked out Rooney, who threaded the perfect pass through for Cristiano Ronaldo to score with a low left-foot shot from 12 yards.

The third goal was United's softest. Nani's cross from the left edge of the Albion penalty area took a double deflection and landed perfectly for Berbatov to nonchalantly fire the ball home right-footed from eight yards on the far post.

With only seconds of the 90 minutes remaining, another superb passing move made it four for the home side.

Ryan Giggs' pinpoint pass found Berbatov on the right corner of the Albion box. He touched the ball on to Rooney to his right and his measured low cross to the far post was tapped home left footed by Nani from close range.

Rooney even had an effort disallowed by referee Mark Halsey in the 23rd minute.

Ronaldo set up the chance for Rooney who put the ball in the net with a sweet shot from 12 yards, only to see it disallowed for his push on Albion defender Gianni Zuiverloon.

Albion could have had few complaints about the result.

Goalkeeper Scott Carson made a string of fine saves to deny Rooney on three occasions and Berbatov once.

The Baggies only came to life as an attacking force after Ishmael Miller replaced Roman Bednar eight minutes into the second half.

Albion's best chance came a minute from time when Miller surged down the right and into the United box before unleashing a tremendous shot which was well saved by United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.
